PDU record: Don’t wait until the deadline!

We imagine that you’ve had a rather busy year, with many clients contacting you due to the pandemic. You're not alone in experiencing a hectic end to this training cycle!

Promptly completing your professional development unit (PDU) record will save you precious time. The high number of requests for information we’ve received in the last few weeks could cause delays for members who wait until the last minute.

You can finalize your record in advance today and avoid delays caused by the influx of requests. As you know, the period ends on November 30, 2021.

Here is a list of the key actions to take for a hassle-free end to this professional development cycle:

  1. To check the number of professional development units (PDUs) that need to be completed before November 30, 2021, go to the Chambre de la sécurité financière (CSF) website and log in to your PDU record.
  2. Consult your summary and check the number of PDUs required for 2019–2020.
  3. Check that all your training certificates have been entered. We strongly recommend entering your certificates of achievements as soon as you receive them to make sure you don’t forget. Don’t hesitate to contact the training provider to ask for your certificate.
  4. If you are not able to enter your certificates yourself, you can email them to us at info@chambresf.com, clearly indicating your AMF certificate number. Our teams will add them to your record as soon as possible.

N.B. It is imperative that all courses completed during the current professional development cycle be entered in your record by November 30, 2021.

For example, if you will be attending a training session on November 15, make sure the training provider guarantees that the PDUs will be entered in your record before midnight on November 30, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Have extra PDUs?

If you obtained extra PDUs between September 1 and November 30, 2019, and have not deferred them, you still have the option of doing so directly on our website, in the Priority for deferring PDUs tab.

Professional development exemption

If you have been off work for at least four consecutive weeks due to disability or parental leave, the CSF allows for a reduction in the number of PDUs prorated to the duration of the leave. Simply fill out the online form, which is available in your PDU record, attach the supporting documents required and email to dispenses@chambresf.com. Our teams will process your request within 15 business days.

If you took a course as part of a college or university program, you can have the PDUs recognized. Simply download and fill out the “Application Form for Recognition of PDUs  – University or CEGEP Course,” which you can find in the “Guides and Forms” section.
