CSF's continuing education offering: always on the rise

Record number of training courses available from its learning platform

Montréal, December 16, 2024 - The Chambre de la sécurité financière (CSF) is stepping up its efforts to offer its 34,000 members high-quality professional development and continuing education opportunities. This approach is part of its 2024-2026 strategic plan, and aims to democratize access to quality training adapted to the realities of the field.

True to its mission of protecting the public, and convinced that well-trained advisors are the first line of defence against malpractice, the CSF is constantly innovating by offering training courses in exponential numbers, forms and varieties: 100% CSF training courses, updated training courses, free training courses, mandatory compliance courses, master classes, ProLab training day and cutting-edge training courses in collaboration with its partners. In addition to its own initiatives, the CSF recognizes close to 2,000 third-party training activities annually.

“We firmly believe that access to quality training will contribute not only to strengthening individual skills, but also to collectively raising professional standards within the financial services industry,” says Daniel Richard, Vice-President, Community Relations at the CSF.

Training and partnerships that benefit members

The CSF's increased collaboration with experts in the financial field and organizations committed to consumer protection is also worthy of mention. One example is the renewal of partnerships with consumer organizations such as ÉducÉpargne, Option consommateurs and Protégez-Vous. These partners offer a variety of personal finance-related content, including several activities that have been recognized by the CSF for the awarding of PDUs to its members.

Set up in partnership with the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), the Money, Inequality and Society Chair is carrying out work that will begin to benefit members as early as 2025. This cutting-edge research will be used to create tools and training courses for advisors, the first of which are expected in the coming year. Analysis of the data collected will help members to deal with the socio-economic realities of all segments of Quebec society - a society in the throes of transformation, it goes without saying.

New agreements have also been signed with the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF), the Cercle finance du Québec and the Portail de l'assurance to expand the range of training courses in complementary fields.

Finally, the CSF is committed to discovering training courses already available on the market, which could support the professionalism of its members. By constantly expanding its training offering, and thanks to numerous initiatives planned for 2025, the CSF is clearly demonstrating its added value in ensuring the balance of Quebec's financial ecosystem.

As a reminder, the training courses recently created or made available for rebroadcast by the CSF are:

- The exceptional ProLab 2024 conferences (in French), on multidisciplinary skills essential to professionals;

- Several Journal de l'assurance training courses in specific disciplines, allowing remote access to these courses;

- Three APFF training courses, offered free of charge to CSF members, in addition to some sixty courses recognized as continuing education with PDUs.

- With its partner ÉducÉpargne, the CSF presented two live webinars (in French), one on savings for women, and another on savings plans, both available as a replay.

- An episode of the Options consommateurs podcast developed in conjunction with the CSF (in French), which entitles our members to 1 PDU when listened to on our site.

- The two most recent Cercle finance du Québec events (in French) will be available for replay with PDU in the coming weeks for a set period.
