Evolving at the pace of change: CSF invites its members to its ProLab 2025 event
Montreal, February 28, 2025 - The CSF is proud to announce the opening of registration for its ProLab 2025 >> Master Classes training event (in French only), to be held at the Centre d'événements et de congrès interactifs (CECi) in Trois-Rivières, on May 8. Presented under the theme “Evolving at the pace of change”, this initiative will provide financial services advisors with an exceptional opportunity to hone their knowledge and develop the multidisciplinary skills essential to their practice.
Top-level training, leading experts
Participants will be able to choose one of four master classes led by renowned academics, each a leading authority in their field:
- Benjamin Croitoru (McGill University) - Anticiper les évolutions du rôle du conseiller face aux changements de l’environnement financier: Developing a capacity for synthesis and a strategic approach in a transforming market, while demonstrating the added value of a human advisor.
- Suzie Mondésir (UQAM) - Gestion inclusive de la clientèle, une valeur distinctive pour le conseiller : Adopt an inclusive posture to better understand the realities of different clienteles and meet their specific needs
- Jacques Nantel (HEC Montréal) and Isabelle Thibeault - Prévoir l’avenir, anticiper les besoins futurs de vos clients : Master socio-economic trends and develop strategies adapted to the expectations of Quebec customers, now and in the future.
- Hélène Belleau (INRS) - Conseiller vos clients vivant des situations complexes : Accompany clients facing complex family and estate issues with rigor and sensitivity, taking care of all their financial needs.
A must-attend event for advisors committed to their clients
The CSF has always been at the forefront of training, being one of the first professional organizations in the country to impose mandatory continuing education for its members, and one of the first Canadian organizations to require members to obtain professional development units (PDUs) for compliance.
“Continuing education is at the heart of our mission to protect the public. Not only does it enable advisors supervised by the CSF to enhance their skills, it also ensures a better match between the evolving needs of consumers and the range of financial products and services offered by professionals,” emphasizes Daniel Richard, Vice-President, Community Relations, at the CSF.

Multidisciplinary skills for tomorrow
The CSF aims to democratize access to quality training adapted to the realities of the field, for all its members, in all regions of Quebec, with a particular focus on the multidisciplinary skills essential to staying in step within a constantly evolving industry. The CSF consulted its members and held workshops with compliance officers, professional development officers and distribution managers, to identify the essential skills that professionals will need to master if they are to continue to meet the needs of their customers and fulfill their important responsibilities.
The multidisciplinary skills identified are:
- Sincere consideration for others and ease in adapting to a diversity of people, which support a strong focus on consumers of financial products and services;
- Interpersonal skills, such as listening skills and the ability to express oneself with impact and influence, are essential. Maintaining a strong network of contacts and generating new business opportunities are also key skills in achieving business objectives;
- Mastery of numerous complex solutions and rigor in the execution of work remain important requirements of the profession. The emphasis is on the ability to learn and the desire for continuous development; and finally
- Collaboration and the need to work with several other professionals, whose complementary expertise will enable you to cover the holistic needs of your customers.
