Exclusive professional development content featured in CSF Mag+ magazine

The CSF’s magazine also publishes a major feature on Indigenous Peoples, to raise members’ awareness of Indigenous economic realities.

Montréal, December 12, 2024 - The Chambre de la sécurité financière (CSF) is delighted to announce the publication of the latest edition of its magazine, CSF Mag+. Readers will discover, among other things, a detailed report on its annual training day, ProLab 2024, held last October. The magazine also details the results of the savings plans survey conducted by Léger on behalf of ÉducÉpargne and CSF. These results show that professionals can play an important role in financial education, particularly in improving knowledge of certain savings plans. The results also reveal clients’ preferences in terms of advisory services for their various financial needs.

ProLab 2024, which attracted a total of almost 400 attendees, presented unique professional development opportunities. Conferences with Farah Alibay, Olivier Bernard (aka Le Pharmachien), Sophie Brochu and Daniel Lamarre were offered to participants. Members also benefited from master classes with renowned teachers: Robert Dutton, Hélène Belleau, Patrick Mignault, Arthur Oulaï, Maripier Tremblay and Gabriel J. Power. The CSF Mag+ offers a review of the content of these master classes and conferences, so that as many readers as possible can benefit from them.

Major feature: Indigenous Peoples

In recent years, a number of Indigenous communities have benefited from the influx of money linked to litigation settlements in which they demanded redress for past injustices. At the same time, some communities are increasingly involved in business and diversifying their activities. These realities create an influx of capital that offers investment opportunities, as well as numerous challenges for communities. CSF Mag+ presents the opinions of several experts to help us understand the situation.

“The advisors who are members of the CSF work with a multitude of clients, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, says Daniel Richard, Vice President, Community relations at the CSF. In a context where the notion of reconciliation defines the paradigm in which relations with Indigenous Peoples are evolving in Quebec and Canada, the CSF is eager to do its part to foster this reconciliation. It is therefore taking the lead in raising financial advisors' awareness of Indigenous realities.”

The magazine is available free of charge on the CSF website (in French only). Due to the current labour dispute at Canada Post, this issue is exceptionally published in digital format only.
